Scary story

#28 A scary story a woman living alone experienced in her bathroom.

This was a summer night a few years ago when I was working as an office worker and living alone.
The 1DK I was living in at the time had a unit bathtub and toilet together.

One night, when I opened the lid of the bathtub to take a bath when the water was boiling, I saw a shadow like a human head.
The top half of the head was floating in the middle of the tub, and from the base of the nose down it was submerged. It was a woman.
Her eyes were wide open, staring at the tub wall in front of her, her long hair swaying and spreading like seaweed.
Her arms, thin and white, lifted softly by buoyancy, were hidden between her dark hair.
No matter what position she was in, there was no way she could fit into the narrow tub like this. It was obvious that it was not human.
Suddenly, I stood there naked with the lid in my hand.
The woman seemed to notice my stunned state.
She looked at me with her eyes only moving, and her smiling mouth opened bright red in the hot water, between her long black hair.
“Oh, no!”
The next moment, I put the lid on the tub.
From under the lid, I heard laughter mixed with a gurgling sound.
At the same time, there was a scratching sound from underneath the closed lid…
I was trying to find a washcloth, a brush, shampoo, or something to
I put everything in the area on the lid at random, deliberately making loud noises, and rushed out of the bathroom.
Behind the bathroom door, the scratching noises coming from under the lid had turned into palm-slapping noises.

I put on a T-shirt and g-pants that I had just taken off and ran out of the room.
I picked up a cab and ran to my girlfriends who lived closest to me.

A few hours later…I think it was around midnight.
As I had jumped out without locking the door or taking anything with me, my friend escorted me back to my room.
My friend is the type of person who laughs off stories like this one, and she was curious enough to open the bathroom door for me.
The bathroom was very quiet. All the various things we had put on the lid were on the floor.
There was no sound of laughter from the hot water or banging on the lid.
My friend opened the lid of the bathtub.
But there was only steam and not a single hair, not even a woman. The hot water was also clean.
Still, it was creepy, so I asked my friend to drop the hot water.

It was then that I found something completely different and disgusting.
My body froze.
My long hair was sticking out from between the closed lid of the toilet and the toilet seat.
My friend noticed it too.
My bold friend opened the lid of the toilet without asking me to stop him.
Inside the toilet was a woman’s face, face up.
The woman, who looked like a mask, moved her eyes and looked at my friend, who was cowering, and then at me.

As soon as her eyes met mine, she opened her mouth again and began to laugh, this time in a high-pitched, clearly audible voice.
“Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha….”
The woman’s face trembled like a spring mechanism as she laughed.
The protruding black hair was pulled into the toilet bowl.
My friend, her face scrunched up, closed the lid of the toilet as if to slam it shut.
Then my friend held the cover with one hand and turned the lever of the toilet with the other hand.
The deafening sound of laughter was drowned out by the sound of running water and suction as he tried to forcefully swallow.

I don’t remember much after that, probably because I was so absorbed in the moment.
When I came to, I found myself in front of my friend’s room with only a simple change of clothes and valuables.
Upon entering the room, my friend first opened the lids of the toilet and bathtub and said, “Don’t ever close them.

Early the next morning. I asked my reluctant friend to accompany me again and went back to my room.
But there was nothing there anymore.

Still, I decided to leave the apartment and return to my parents’ house.
I cannot say that the commute would be long.
Even now, when I take a bath, I try to take it when my mother or sister is in there.
The toilet lid is left off all the time with the approval of my family.
