#2 One of Japan’s famous scary stories, “The Man Under the Bed”

One day, A, a female college student, went to visit B, a senior student, at her house.
A and B were very close friends, and that day they stayed up late talking about trivial things at B’s house.
Looking at the time, it was just before the last train, so A decided to go back to her apartment from B’s house.
However, on the way, she remembered that she had left the key to her apartment at B’s house, so she turned back to B’s house.

As it was the middle of the night, there was no light in B’s room. Fortunately, the door was unlocked, so A, who knew the structure of B’s room very well, got the key to her room, which she forgot in B’s room, without even turning on the light, and went home just in time.

The next day.
The next day, she went to B’s room to apologize for her rude behavior yesterday and to ask her out to dinner.
But there was a police car and a lot of onlookers.
A walked through the crowd and told the police that she was a friend of B’s.
The police let a shocked A into B’s room, saying that B had been killed and that they had some questions for her.

When A saw B’s room, escorted by that police officer, she was horrified.

Next to the bed stained with B’s blood was written in blood letters

“You were lucky. You didn’t turn on the light.”
When she went back to get the key, she found that B was already dead and the murderer was still lurking in the room. If she had turned on the light at that time, she would have been killed too… by the murderer who was hiding under the bed.
