Scary story

#69 Scary story about a friend I haven’t seen in a while.

When I went to a famous hotel in Tokyo for a wedding wardrobe fitting, I met a classmate from junior high school in the lobby.
She had been very thin, sickly, and dark at the time, but she had become plump and normal.
I was a little surprised to see him laugh and talk so much.
What surprised me even more was to hear that he was staying in a hotel suite.
She told me to go upstairs for a cup of tea.
It was a very nice room, and I felt like I was living there rather than staying there, but when I asked, “Why?” she did not smile and answer. She smiled and didn’t answer.
I don’t mean to say this, but I felt very strange because she was wearing normal clothes, not like in a hotel, and I felt very out of place.

We had tea and cake with room service (her treat), and when it was time to leave.
She suddenly said, “Let me show you something nice,” and took me to a bedroom in the back.
The curtains were drawn, it was dimly lit, and there was some kind of medical equipment cart.
There was a naked woman with long hair sitting on the bed facing away from me.
I am still confused and my memory is a little fuzzy, but I think she was wearing a large diaper.
There were things like dirty cotton pads scattered around the room, and the person was missing one hand below the shoulder.
I was pushed out of the room in a daze and asked, “Who is that person?” I asked, but she just laughed and said, “I know her.
Suddenly realizing that I didn’t know her at all, I became extremely frightened, so I said my farewells in a slurred voice and ran home.
She seemed to be enjoying my flailing around.
After that, I had to go back to that hotel many times, but I didn’t have the courage to visit her again.

I have thought about it a lot since then.
If she had been involved in some crime, she would not have bothered to inform me, whom she did not know as far as I was concerned.
She was an only child.
She is an only child, and the apartment where she used to live with her mother has since been torn down.
I don’t think the woman in the bedroom was her mother, no matter how I recall it. I can only assume it was a young woman.
