At the time, the three of us, A, B and I, often went on road trips to haunted places.
The place in question was famous, and many people visited there day after day and night.
It somehow became a kind of hangout rather than a haunted place.
The building was a two-story structure that was said to have been abandoned after a robbery and murder.
On the ground floor, there were three rooms (a dining room, a parlor, and a room with a Buddhist altar).
Except for a few holes in the floor in places, each room was generally neat.
Upstairs there were four rooms (possibly two children’s rooms, a bedroom, and what appeared to be a study).
The incident occurred in one of the children’s rooms on the second floor, with a pipe bed and countless photographs strewn across the floor.
It was said to be the scariest room and the main place for liver tests.
On that day (H10.09.10), three other groups besides us had visited there before us.
We were talking and making some noise on the narrow road that serves as the entrance to the deserted house.
When we arrived at the entrance, four of them (probably one group) came up to us and said
He asked me what I thought of these and showed me three Polaroid photos.
All three pictures were of the room in question, two were taken inside the room and one was taken from outside the window.
The one inside the room shows a cloudy orange light over the bed and the
The one I took after that had no orange light, but a white round fog in the same spot.
And the last picture I took from outside showed
There was a white fog mixed with orange light that looked like a shadow, looking at the person taking the picture in the window (no glass).
The group that took these photos was the first to arrive.
The other two groups were shown the pictures as well as us and had not yet entered the deserted house.
We all decided to go there, with a heightened sense of anticipation that we might be able to see the spirits.
When we arrived, there seemed to be an eerie feeling in the deserted house, partly because of the pictures.
It was time for all of us (11 of us) to decide who would go inside and who would wait outside.
Three elementary-school-aged girls suddenly came running out of the deserted house, laughing.
We all screamed and freaked out almost simultaneously, but upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a group of living girls.
Then he said to us, “Don’t come here to laugh,” “Tell me you found the red ball,” and other creepy and unintelligible things.
One of us asked, “What are you doing?”
The girl shouted, “It’s not a matter of forgiveness, it’s a matter of rule.
All three of them were acting quite strange, and since it was 1:00 a.m., I thought these kids might have been involved in an incident.
As I was about to call the police, a car came along.
A middle-aged couple and an old woman got out of it and came to us.
The couple put their children in the car, and the old woman told us
You guys, hurry up and go home. This is no place for you.
These children are my grandchildren, and the poor things are crazy.
They sneak out at night and go here. It’s three kilometers from our house.
You guys shouldn’t test your courage.
I don’t believe in spirits, but it’s hard for me to see my grandchildren.
Their faces are not the same as before they went crazy. You should go home.
I advised him.
In hindsight, I regret that I really should have left, but
At the time, that advice raised my expectations, and I let my curiosity get the better of me … and I shouldn’t have done that …
After the old woman and the others left, one of the group who took the picture realized that those children had been hiding somewhere in the deserted house before they came.
The hiding place could be under a hole in the floor, or in a closet next to the Buddhist altar, or under the bed in the room in question…
Anyway, I had to keep the eeriness and dread of the thing at bay.
Six of us went inside the room and five of us waited outside with the engine of each car running, just in case.
I was to go inside.
The staircase was designed so that we had to stand in single file to go up, and I was third from the front.
As I climbed up, I imagined to myself, ‘In a case like this, if a spirit is going to appear, it’s going to be a slow and gradual process of foreboding.’
The moment the two people in front of me (a man and a woman) entered the room, their imaginations were instantly shattered with the man’s scream … .
We ran into the room to see what was going on.
Then we saw a woman lying on her back with empty eyes, wiggling and muttering something.
At first she was whispering, but then she suddenly burst into high-pitched laughter.
”It’s a rule. Ha-ha-ha. It’s a rule. I’ll be back.”
We got impatient, ran away from the room at once carrying the woman and jumped into the car.
Everyone was so selfless that they jumped into another car with their own hang-ups.
I got in the same car as the woman.
The woman was half unconscious and drenched in sweat.
We followed the lead car into a family restaurant.
The woman immediately went into the bathroom with another girl, and after throwing up, she came to her senses.
We all let loose for a while and then the woman said she had something in her pocket.
It was a picture of one of the pictures scattered around the room, and everyone froze when they saw it.
It was dated November 3, 1979, and it was of a girl.
The face of the three girls who had come out of the deserted house looked remarkably similar to the one who had screamed something unintelligible.
The woman started crying when she saw the pictures.
The woman said ”when she entered the room, the girl in the picture was sitting upright on the bed and
When our eyes met, he stood up, grinning, and jumped on me.
I was having a hard time breathing, I blacked out, and when I came to, I was in the car….”
After calming the woman down, the photos were to be kept by the first group of people to arrive.
We waited until morning to disperse.
This is the end of the story of the test of courage, but the later part of the story is still going on with the beginning of the horror.
I tell it to you all as I look back and reflect on the past.
Now that we know the “rules,” we will wait for morning to come and take everyone with us.
