I have my own memories, my brother’s story, and information from my friends.
This is a story based on these sources, so it may not even be completely true, but it is a story that is true.
I thought it was a pretty scary story, so I will write it down.
It all started when I was in the early grades of elementary school.
At the time, my family was living in a public employee dormitory in Tarumi Ward, Kobe City (I don’t know if it still exists today).
It looked like an old type of housing complex, and I think there were about ten buildings in total.
Each building had three staircases and five floors. We were on the fifth floor in the middle of the fifth building.
The family that the story is based on lived on the fourth floor of the staircase on the right side of the building, I don’t even remember the room number.
There were three people in the family: parents and the eldest son, an only child. The father was a government employee, the mother a housewife, and the eldest son a ronin.
The relationship between the mother and the eldest son created the initial tragedy.
The mother was quite an educational mother and wanted her son to enter the university of her choice.
She half forced her son to study.
After several failed attempts, the eldest son suffered from his mother’s pressure and failed exams.
He committed suicide by jumping out of the window of his study room on the fourth floor of his apartment complex.
I heard that it caused quite a commotion, but I don’t remember much about it.
The educational idiot mom was quite shocked by that one incident, and she became mentally driven crazy.
She suddenly went out for a walk in the middle of the night, or said to someone she met outside, “I see a person with wings behind you.”
It was quite terrifying to the residents of the apartment complex.
In fact, my brother was told that the crazy old woman, who was also called “Crazymam,” said things to him that he didn’t understand.
Another story I heard was that she always left the window of her dead son’s room open.
She said that “if he closed it, his son would never come home.”
The symptoms got worse and worse, and now she was putting up shrine charm all over the room.
She would rant and rave in the middle of the night, “They are preventing my son from coming home.”
She went outside in her nightgown and told the people in the apartment complex that she could still see “the guy with the wings behind you,” she said.
It got to a pretty bad state.
I remember this area was a hot topic of conversation in the apartment complex at the time.
Her husband was so troubled by this that he consulted various people (from counselors, to religious people, to psychic people), but….
He didn’t get any good results.
Coincidentally, a family belonging to a certain religious group lived across the street from that family.
One day, the father, who was consulted by the family, visited the crazy woman and prayed in front of her.
Suddenly, the voice of “Crazymam” changed, she cursed the father, and went into an uncontrollable rage.
There was an exorcist-like thing…such rumors also spread in the apartment complex.
Due to family reasons my family had to move out of the area.
Without seeing what happened after that, the case was relegated to the furthest reaches of my memory.
My family moved several times, and two years later, we came back to Kobe again.
However, it was not in the government housing, but in a different school district a little further away.
Besides, I completely forgot about that family at that time.
Four or five years after returning to Kobe, when I was about to enter high school, a friend of my mother’s visited our house.
She had been a friend of my mother’s since we were living in a public employee dormitory, and after returning to Kobe, she would occasionally come to our house to visit my mother.
We were making small talk that day, but when I showed up to say hello, she said
“Remember that?” She started talking about that family.
The crazy old woman did not get any better, and finally her husband had to move to the countryside with the crazy one.
I didn’t ask where.
So the husband was taking care of the crazy and commuting to work far away.
However, this husband was also quite old, and he could not win against the passing of the years.
After taking care of the crazy , the long commute, etc., he became ill.
So, he retired early and decided to stay in the countryside and just take care of the crazy.
A while after he retired, the neighbors began to notice something strange.
The couple had not been seen recently.
the neighbors all knew the wife was the crazy one, and they all knew the husband had recently retired.
The husband used to go shopping and such, but recently he has not been seen at all.
They thought it was strange, but because of the family situation, no one went out to the house to check on him.
Weeks later, the couple had not been seen.
The neighbors began to think that this was really strange.
Even though it was a neighborhood, the distance between houses was quite far in the countryside, so they did not know the specific situation of the house, so they asked the neighbors if “they had seen the couple.”
One neighbor called the police to inform them of the situation and the police decided to go with them to see what was going on.
The door was unlocked, and when they opened it, a strange odor wafted out at that moment. It was obvious that something had rotted.
The police officer and a neighbor went inside and saw a figure sitting in a room that appeared to be a bedroom.
“Crazymam” is sitting in front of a futon laid out on the floor. Neatly sitting upright.
The source of the rotten smell is obviously coming from that room.
When I entered the room, I found the changed husband on the futon laid out in front of the crazy.
It looks like a long time has passed since his death.
The crazy was sitting still in front of him.
I heard later that the husband was not killed by another person, but that he fell ill and died of illness as it was.
The only thing that bothered me was that there was nothing left in the house that could be considered food, and there was nothing left in the house that could be considered
None of the neighbors saw the crazy go shopping.
What had the crazy woman been eating for weeks after her husband’s death?
All she had in front of her was…
